No Fond Return of Love
Barbara Pym
Blood & Beauty: The Borgias
Sarah Dunant
Night Watch - Linda Fairstein Really disliked the character of Luc. Why would a smart woman like Alex put up with this sexist condescending jerk?
The Sea, the Sea - Iris Murdoch, Mary Kinzie Insufferable, hateful narrator
The Best of Everything - Rona Jaffe Psycho women and d-bag men
Let's Pretend This Never Happened: A Mostly True Memoir - Jenny Lawson 2.5
About Last Night - Ruthie Knox Really wanted to like this one, but the heroine was seriously annoying. Lots of made-up problems and unnecessary drama. May try again, though.
Almost French: Love and a New Life In Paris - Sarah Turnbull Disliked the whiney, judgmental narrator.
The Last Policeman - Ben H. Winters 3.5
Dead Scared - S.J. Bolton TSTL heroine
Gaping plot holes
Goopy love story
Ridiculous plot
Will not be continuing this series
Beauty Queens - Libba Bray This was truly awful. The "satire" was so over-the-top it was ridiculous. And the author bludgeoned the reader with the message. Feel bad even donating this. Blech!
Christy - Catherine Marshall Way too religious.
Unlocked - Courtney Milan Hated this. Elaine was a truly hateful character. There were at least five italics on every page. Awful!
When Maidens Mourn - C.S. Harris Nostrils...flaring and quivering everywhere
Mad Women: The Other Side of Life on Madison Avenue in the '60s and Beyond - Jane Maas Pretty good, but the Mad Men references felt tacked on and unnecessary.
The Dressmaker - Kate Alcott Uneven characterizations
The Future of Us - Jay Asher, Carolyn Mackler 2.5 stars.
Tiger's Curse (Book 1) - Colleen Houck I really, really wanted to like this book. The idea sounded great, but I didn't care for the writing style at all. Also had some problems with character of Kelsey. Made it about halfway through.
